What Chapin actually is
Chapin sits on the north-west shoulder of Lake Murray in Lexington County, roughly twenty miles from downtown Columbia with I-26 running past it. That combination is the whole story: deep water on one side, open country on the other, and an interstate that makes both of them commutable.
It means Chapin is not one market. The shoreline, the subdivisions off the highway and the acreage further out are different decisions with different prices, and the postcode they share tells you very little. Living here, on the water, makes those differences easy to see.
